What are Srotas?

The word Srotas comes from the Sanskrit root 'Sru' which means 'to flow'. Srotas are subtle channels that transport all physiological substances and energies to their respective destinations.

They exist in every tissue, organ and cell. They are responsible for the circulation of Prana, nutrients, waste products, hormones, impulses, and sensory information.

“

When the channels are free and open, life is free and vibrant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Srotas are the subtle micro-channels that transport nutrients, waste, energy and information throughout the body.

When channels are obstructed, substances cannot flow or be eliminated properly, leading to toxin buildup (Ama) and eventual disease.

Signs include fatigue, poor digestion, skin issues, pain or stiffness, and low immunity – an Ayurvedic consultation can assess this in detail.

Panchakarma, Abhyanga, sweat therapies and dietary correction are commonly used, chosen based on which Srotas and dosha are affected.

Diet plays a major role, but lifestyle, sleep, movement and stress management are equally important for keeping Srotas clear.
